Leadership Acumen and Team Orientation

The Chief Operating Officer will be charged with elevating the overall talent of the company. Through the development of improved processes, industry tools, training and development, and hiring, this individual will work to lead and develop the team while fostering a culture of accountability and results. With this in mind, the company requires a hands-on, team-oriented executive who has broad-based credibility and is capable of consistently motivating people to take action. This individual will be a strong manager who can build, inspire, and coach a leadership team with a passion for the business, while forging close working relationships with other senior executives and the Board of Directors.

Critical Thinking/Analytical Rigor

This individual must be intellectually sharp and clearly capable of thinking on his/her feet while demonstrating outstanding business judgment using critical data to make or influence decisions. The Chief Operating Officer must possess the analytical skills to drive costs from the business, improve overall productivity and elevate the company’s processes as points of differentiation in the marketplace. He/she must build agreement and alignment up front in a project and determine what is a go/no go in each phase of a project through strong analytical thinking.

Communication

This individual should possess very strong communication, listening, and persuasion skills, truly partnering with the management team. He/she should be comfortable, articulate, and dynamic in front of both external and internal audiences including employees, senior management, the Board of Directors and customers.He/she will be direct, candid and possess strong conflict resolution skills.

Results-Oriented

The new Chief Operating Officer must be performance-driven and able to provide measurable results. The successful candidate will be resourceful, action-oriented, and possess a proactive sense of urgency and the ability to overcome obstacles to produce results in a timely fashion. He/she will be comfortable working in a lean organization and rolling up his/her sleeves to get things done.
