  • Strategic Orientation: The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to draw a high level of insight from multiple business situations to create and/or refine high-level market strategy. S/he will display a deep understanding of business strategy in multiple and integrated markets, competition, trends, and other factors to develop a strategy that increases the competitive stance of the business. S/he will link strategy to a series of clearly actionable marketing initiatives, considering impacts in many parts of the business. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to effectively communicate insights to internal parties and to marketplace partners.

  • Collaboration & Influencing: S/he should thrive in an environment where influence, leadership, and engagement are the norm versus direct authority. The successful candidate will have experience working across “overlapping boundaries” between groups and can lead cross-functional teams effectively. S/he must be highly analytical, detail oriented, and rigorous in developing alternatives and solutions to complex financial and operational issues with the ability to communicate solutions in a straightforward, collaborative, and collegial way. The successful candidate will have a personal style that is non-hierarchical, non-territorial, and collegial. While the individual will not hesitate to take bold action when appropriate, the candidate will have a natural inclination toward leading through collaboration by seeking input and buy-in from key players across the company and his/her team. The individual will be able to learn the industry quickly and build relationships effectively with internal/external partners and customers. The ideal candidate will be adept at showing others how their objectives align with his/her own and be able to fine-tune communication to the specific audience. S/he will build informal networks internally and externally and view them as a crucial part of the value creation process.

  • Results Orientation: The successful candidate brings a strong track record of driving performance in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and global environment. S/he must demonstrate an “ownership mentality,” with a passion for delivering on commitments, owning results, and “rolling up” his/her sleeves to drive performance. This includes establishing enterprise-wide stretch goals and championing change initiatives to help the company measure and achieve objectives and performance standards. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to improve the top and bottom line under a variety of macroeconomic conditions and requirements. The candidate will be energized by a challenge and driven to exceed goals. He/she will have identified and exploited opportunities, even under adverse conditions, and will have a track record of enabling successful integration. Additionally, he/she will have had experience developing and communicating a plan as well as utilizing business and management reviews to benchmark progress against plan.

  • Team Leadership: The successful candidate will have a strong track record as a leader, including team leadership and people development, and will effectively “convey the story.” S/he will spend significant time with indirect team members in the business units and with third parties, and will routinely solicit ideas, suggestions, and help in order to arrive at a better solution. This individual will empower his/her team (directly and indirectly) to take risks while measuring their performance and holding them accountable for results. S/he will also be able to engage in a variety of interactions with key leaders across the business. The candidate brings a good sense of humor and self-awareness to the business.
