
Plant Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Ensure an overall safe environment. Improve safety culture and performance.
- Achieve assigned revenue, profit and production goals.
- Establish and achieve strategic financial growth goals.
- Prioritize improvement activities for the Elkmont facilities’ operations.
- Develop process to consistently produce quality products.
- Improve flow to achieve customer delivery on time requirements.
- Develop process to promote environment of fairness, respect and consistency.
- Develop staff for higher level of responsibility.
- Continuously improve Great Place to Work culture.
- Continuously improve a high contribution work environment.
- Improve physical asset management.
- Regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate plant maintenance activities with the maintenance department manager.
- Lead, train, and direct supervisors to accomplish plant goals.
- Resource management: balance the workload between value streams. Maintain department and shift sizes at optimal levels for safe and efficient production activity. Ensure that machines and equipment are properly operated and maintained.
- Interface with union representatives on matters relating to the labor contract. Hear complaints and grievances brought forth by the hourly work force.
- Ensure that adequate communication is in place between the production floor and support functions.
- Review manufacturing results in key areas on an ongoing basis, compare to standard, and take action to improve unsatisfactory performance.
- Report, analyze, and interpret financial and operating data/variances; develop and implement countermeasures where applicable.
