Precision Edge has three locations in beautiful Northern Michigan and Northern Indiana: Sault Ste. Marie, located in the Upper Peninsula on the St. Mary's River connecting Lake Superior and Lake Huron, Boyne City, located in the Northern Lower Peninsula just two hours South on the shores of Lake Charlevoix, and Angola, Indiana, located an hour North of Fort Wayne on the Indiana-Michigan border.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President, Finance & Accounting is responsible for providing effective financial leadership for the company to grow responsibly. This role also oversees the company’s information systems strategy and sets IT direction based on business needs. This position manages the financial, risk, and information technology functions and is responsible for driving and building strong teams with a customer-service mindset. The successful candidate will also ensure the adequacy of internal controls and provide advice to all levels of management. As a vital member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President, Finance & Accounting will be responsible for properly informing the business on key financial metrics and partnering with senior leaders and business unit managers to advise on sustainable growth strategies.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for sustaining the health of the organization. Identify, onboard, and retain top talent, providing leadership and professional development for the finance and IT team. Develop and coach employees to achieve maximum potential. Sustain a culture of innovation, high energy, and performance.
- Analyze current operating results and business operations in terms of costs, budgets, policies of the organization, and trends as it relates to future business plans and increased profit opportunities.
- Oversee all financial, IT, and risk management activities for Precision Edge, including direct supervision of the departments.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, and supporting analyses (both defined and ad hoc), along with meaningful commentary to explain results to various levels with Precision Edge, Colson, and Marmon. Ensure that financial reporting requirements to corporate/sector/internal company deadlines and criteria are met.
- Ensure compliance with Marmon’s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes Oxley internal controls, and FCPA. Ensure that financial and IT SOX documentation is maintained in a current manner. Coordinate and support internal/external audits.
- Oversee and modify for optimum efficiency and effectiveness the financial processes and supporting information systems of the Company including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Marmon, Colson, local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Ensure that the company general ledger, fixed asset, payroll customer billing, accounts receivable and payable, inventory systems, and routines operate effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for review and approval of all contracts negotiated on behalf of the company.
- Provide general supervision and management of the day-to-day financial, risk, and IT affairs of the company.
- Interact with the management team to provide consultative support for business improvement initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
- Ensure financial records & systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
- Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
- Provide assistance in managing/measuring working capital and pricing changes.
- Constantly maintain and drive a customer service mindset throughout teams; encourage cross-functional working relationships to enhance the delivery of the best possible service to internal and external users.
- Properly disseminate appropriate financial data within Precision Edge, Colson, and Marmon to aid corporate decision-making and planning.
- Manage the direction of information technology, directly overseeing the Manager of IT and assuring timely support to all areas of the company. Plan for the enhancement of existing systems, processes, and procedures as needed to meet the requirements of the business.
- Manage the risk department, ensuring ongoing company compliance to mitigate company risk.
- Provide proactive corporate development programs, including the modeling of various financial structures, restructuring, due diligence, and modeling of M&A activities.
- Direct the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes.
- Manage the relationship with outside auditors; direct the audit processes and ensure beneficial tax outcomes.
- Work in partnership with the Precision Edge leadership team to set and deliver strategy and operating results.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and experience streamlining reporting for more efficient and effective results.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Work requires strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Supervisory experience and strong influential management skills and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset is a must.
- Ten years of experience in a progression of accounting/financial positions, including five of these years in a senior level position.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financial related field required.
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting / MBA is a plus.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Audit experience preferred.
- Must be able to travel as business requires.
