The Scope of the
Associate Chief Technology Officer Role
Based in Rochester, MN, The Associate Chief Technology Officer provides leadership in planning, developing, communicating, implementing and managing information technology strategy and supporting architecture for enterprise IT functions. The Associate Chief Technology Officer will assure that this strategy and architecture align Mayo Clinic’s information technology with Mayo Clinic’s overall information technology strategy, and with Mayo Clinic's strategic, operational, and business plans, with industry directions. Helps provide guidance to IT leadership on the use of the strategy and architecture to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of information technology, and in incorporating strong resilience, security and privacy qualities into information technology services. Serves as a trusted technology advisor to IT leadership to insure systems are acquired, constructed, integrated, and operated in accordance with IT strategy and institutional requirements. Associate Chief Technology Officer assists the Chief Technology Officer as an advisor to senior leadership regarding information technology matters within the context of clinical medicine and healthcare delivery and how they interact with Mayo Clinic’s broader strategies
As part of the Chief Technology Officer succession plan, the Associate Chief Technology Officer is a trusted advisor with a demonstrated ability to understand the technology and business landscape. The successful candidate will be able to see technology issues from a business and technology perspective so he/she can communicate this effectively to facilitate quality decision making. The scope of responsibility includes the definition of and developing, for priority programs and as delegated by the Chief Technology Officer.
