Associate Director, Payroll

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Business Acumen: The Associate Director, Payroll must have deep experience working with PeopleSoft payroll software and managing payroll within the law firm/professional services model. This individual must have knowledge of national and international payroll laws and regulations.

  • Leadership/Communication: The Associate Director, Payroll must be effective with navigating deadlines and time pressures and managing project timelines in a high-pressure environment. Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and other leaders across the firm. Build and mentor a best-in-class team. Demonstrated experience in defining processes and delivering process improvements. This individual should possess very strong communication, listening, and persuasion skills, in order to truly partner with the executive team. This individual will be able to take analytical data and convert and convey the information. This individual must be articulate, concise and conversant. Confidence and interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders.

  • Scope and Scale: The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with payroll management in a law/professional services firm. BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. Payroll professional certification required (e.g. CPP with APA).

  • Personal Characteristics: This individual will be self-reliant, detail-oriented, strategic, communicative and intellectually curious. Proven ability to navigate complex, high-pressure environments. Exercises sound judgment.
