- Leadership Acumen and Team Orientation: The Director of MEP, HVAC will be a highly energetic, proactive individual. He/she must be able to quickly win the confidence and respect of senior leadership, fellow employees, and clients. This individual must be a self-starter, but comfortable working in and helping to create a decidedly collaborative environment. Must be highly assertive, personable, innovative, and results-oriented.
- Critical Thinking/Analytical Rigor: The Director of MEP, HVAC will demonstrate clear critical thinking in the development and execution of business strategies using critical data to make or influence decisions. They must have the ability to create and generate business plans, strategies, and initiatives leading to increased market shares through value propositions, while combining critical thinking to determine what will best serve Goldman Copeland.
- Talent Management and Coaching Skills: This leader will be charged with maintaining a high level of talent within the New York operation. Critical to this aim is effectively attracting, retaining, and developing technical experts and top-notch consultants. Through the continual professional development of existing staff, and hiring, this individual will foster a culture of accountability and results. With this in mind, the company requires a hands-on, team-oriented executive who has broad-based credibility, and is capable of consistently motivating people to act and perform beyond the expected. This individual will be a strong leader who possesses a comfortable coaching style and uses it strategically to improve team performance.
- Results-Oriented: The new Director of MEP, HVAC must be performance-driven and able to provide measurable results. The successful candidate will be resourceful, action-oriented, and possess the ability to produce results in a timely fashion. They will be comfortable working in a lean organization and rolling up their sleeves to build and develop the structure and systems to enable the execution of the growth strategy.
- Communication and Change Management: This individual should possess very strong communication and influencing skills. He or she should be comfortable, articulate, and dynamic in front of both internal and external audiences including clients, employees, and senior leadership. He/she will be direct, candid, and authentic. Effective change management skills are also critical in an entrepreneurial, aggressively growing business environment where the organization must empower the many to attack important issues and opportunities by giving teams freedom to create extraordinary client delivery.
