CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Results-Oriented: The new Chief Operating Officer must be performance-driven and able to provide measurable results. The successful candidate will be resourceful, action-oriented, as well as a flexible and decisive leader who establishes clarity in the midst of distractions to produce results in a timely fashion. He/she will provide clear direction and establish achievable goals and will actively lead cross-functional teams to ensure their success. He/She will focus on high leveraged goals and harnessing the energy of leaders at all levels in order to achieve objectives.

  • Communication: This individual should possess very strong communication, listening, and persuasion skills, in order to truly partner with EBI Ownership. He/She must be comfortable, articulate and dynamic, and an effective presenter in front of both external and internal audiences including technical practitioners, business professionals, clients, regulators, company leadership, and the Board of Directors. He or she will be direct, candid and authentic.

  • Conceptual Thinking: This leader must be capable of conceiving and selecting innovative strategies and ideas. This individual will provide a worldly perspective of macro and industry influences to assist in guiding the company in new directions. He/she will provide perspective coming in from outside the organization to aid in the collective leadership team’s understanding and acceptance of trends, insights, changing business perspective and management strategies. This keen perspective should be presented with patience and guidance rather than authoritative. This individual must view integrity as non-negotiable.

  • Strategic Thinking: This individual must be intellectually sharp and clearly capable of thinking on his/her feet while demonstrating outstanding business judgment and a long-term, holistic view. The Chief Operating Officer will possess the analytical skills to improve overall productivity and elevate the company. This person must not only embrace change, but be entrepreneurial in nature, creating and altering this road map along the way. The successful candidate will have a track record of effectively diagnosing and anticipating competitive threats and taking action on the strategic concerns of the organization.

  • Leadership Acumen and Team Orientation: The Chief Operating Officer will be charged with elevating the overall revenue, profitability, and talent of the business through various efforts. Through the development of improved processes and training and development, this individual will work to foster a culture of accountability and results. This company requires a hands-on, team-oriented executive who has broad-based credibility and is capable of consistently motivating people to act.
