POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is looking for a seasoned Information Technology, Project Manager to join their Technology organization. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a project portfolio of Information Technology (IT) business initiatives that vary in size, scope, complexity, and urgency.
- Collaborate with leadership, business owners, the software development team, and end users to capture and document project priorities.
- Help create alignment between strategic business priorities and IT initiatives to support those priorities (facilitate an objective prioritization and selection of projects to focus on).
- Create project structure and follow Project Manger’s best practices to successfully execute and complete projects.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define deliverables and project success criteria at the beginning of each project.
- Manage technology projects (scope, schedule, and budget) and resources (day-to-day prioritization and assignment of Azure DevOps tasks), delegating responsibilities and due dates for deliverables.
- Follow existing agile processes and work closely with all stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Organize and drive project meetings including sprint plannings, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Create and maintain project documentation: charters, plans, status updates, etc.
- Define and track key project milestones and ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Coordinate software engineering and operations tasks to ensure that development and deployment efforts are synchronized.
- Report project status (progress on projects across multiple workstreams).
- Develop and report on project metrics (KPIs) to measure productivity.
- Identify project risks and issues then resolve, mitigate, or escalate as necessary.
- Understand team composition and unique skillsets to effectively assign tasks to the most appropriate resource (delegate project tasks to employees best positioned to complete them).
- Follow up on overdue deliverables and help resource projects which are behind (advocate for additional resources when necessary).
- Assist with additional project needs: training resources, change management, organization wide communication, etc.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to enhance and maintain the organization’s next generation of systems and applications.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7+ years of technology project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Live in the greater Chicago area to enable ease of occasional downtown HQ meeting.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Change management experience.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced smaller company environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clear impediments, set goals, and clearly communicate expectations to stakeholders.
- Experience with and/or working knowledge of an Adaptive style of project management (facilitating Agile software development).
- Experience with Azure DevOps a huge plus.
- Ability to disseminate technical information to non-technical individuals.
- Comfort managing many projects simultaneously and wearing many hats (open to chipping in as needs arise).
- Ability to learn quickly and understand business processes.
- PMP, Scrum certifications a plus.
- Persistence, adaptability, interpersonal awareness, and strong diplomacy skills.
