POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, Human Resources will be responsible for providing strategic HR Business Partner support for our client. The successful candidate will be excited about contributing at both firsthand and strategic levels and have a proven track record of positively influencing teams and their leaders.
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded human resources executive with deep organizational design, recruitment, and development experience. Our client is looking for an individual who possesses a ‘can-do’ approach and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic environment. The Director, Human Resources will provide leadership in establishing optimal organizational design wherein the alignment of its infrastructure and business processes ensures world class performance. The Director, Human Resources will be the lead advisor in building organizational capability and processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identify ways to support this mission through talent management.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the overall business strategy of the company.
- Act as a trusted advisor and strategic Human Resource partner to all teams.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional working teams on strategic initiatives.
- Lead a strong, effective, and respected Human Resources team that is business savvy, proactive, responsive, helpful, and anticipatory. At all levels, the Human Resources function should be viewed by the company as confident, expert, strategic, effective, and vital to the organization’s success.
- Build the quality and depth of talent within the organization through innovative recruitment and retention programs that ensure organizational readiness to achieve targeted business objectives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training and development program for all employees in the company.
- Understand the existing competencies and talent needs of various teams and identify and address talent gaps before they impact the business.
- Work with the leadership team to put in place proactive talent management plans (skills/leadership development and succession planning.)
- Provide change-management counsel and support.
- Identify key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions.
- Assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on metrics.
- Implement and manage HR technology systems to streamline HR processes and improve the overall employee experience.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, harassment, and discrimination complaints.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience as an HR professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field required.
- Experience working in the restaurant or hospitality industry is strongly preferred.
- An agile and continuous learner with personal resilience and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills across levels.
- Ability to persuade, influence, and build enthusiasm and commitment.
- Strong aptitude for creative thinking and problem-solving.
- Experience driving business strategies through creative Human Resource processes and initiatives.
- A successful record of developing cost-effective, action-focused programs and policies that reflect future plans and philosophies concerning growth, profitability, employee development, and customer service.
- Strong business and financial acumen, preferably within a fast-paced industry.
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Goal-oriented, proactive, accountable, and passionate about driving results.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team.
