POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly proactive Research Director to assist in identifying, sourcing, and recruiting top talent for executive level positions, lead talent mapping efforts, and provide strategic guidance on market research. This role will own the management and cleaning of data by leveraging technology. The Research Director will also develop techniques and procedures for organizing, locating, and enabling access to relevant knowledge and competitive intelligence. This position will be an integral part of a collaborative team to help ensure Comhar Partners exudes a positive image to sources and prospects in the marketplace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for promoting and utilizing the company's knowledge assets by providing ongoing governance of a knowledge base, creating standards across the various teams, workflows, and integrated software
- Performs primary and secondary research to build a detailed understanding of target markets and/or companies using a range of online resources and databases
- Gains a clear understanding of client search assignments to effectively develop and execute a research strategy that identifies executives in target organizations
- Accurately exports candidate information into Keyhires, a proprietary database, in a timely manner with high levels of quality (i.e., properly spelled names, appropriate locations, extrapolated e-mail addresses)
- Carefully follows the weekly queue to ensure timely execution of name generation and business development activities
- Analyzes existing knowledge management processes to define, document and drive changes, effectively working across the organization with stakeholders to develop and support new and existing features
- Profiles companies and industries, successfully building competitor landscapes per market and per segment for competitive intelligence needs
- Deep understanding of insights developed during engagement and over time to enhance the firm’s understanding of the “art” of research
- Proactively identifies and tracks organizational, industry and/or functional trends and report findings
- Assists with marketing and business development initiatives that can be supplemented with research
- Manage vendors, contractor, international suppliers
- Reads and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Vision for future of data and elegant database design and implementation
- Strong technical understanding and deployment of technology to streamline process and enhance data
- Provides effective and efficient corrective actions to resolve technology issues and manages offshore/international vendors and for optimal end user experience
- Experience monitoring industry/segment trends and influence on business development and engagement execution
- Seeks others input for continuous improvement and provides constructive feedback to peers and co-workers
- Completes special projects as assigned by the Managing Director
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, library science, or related field
- Strong computer skills and database experience; knowledge of Boolean Operators and project management tools (e.g., Trello, Jira) preferred
- Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
- High level of self-motivation and energy, an optimistic attitude, and very strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience doing QA/QC work
- Understands the Scrum/Agile cycle (ex. how to compose tickets in a clear, concise manner, how the software works in a general sense, collaborating with international teams on how to resolve issues found)
- Entrepreneurial and self-assured; takes direction well and is outspoken regarding suggestions or creative ideas
- Ability to articulate complex matters in a straightforward manner
- Can maintain confidential information in an appropriate manner, as well as use good judgment in the wording and inclusion of sensitive information
- Works well with a team and offers value-added suggestions
- Possess sufficient conceptual skills to help understand broad industry concepts and analytical skills to determine the depth of experience of candidates; ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
- Genuinely interested in learning about people, business, and industry characteristics/needs
- Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately, and adhere to deadlines

This individual must be intellectually sharp and clearly capable of thinking on their feet while demonstrating outstanding business judgment. The Research Director will possess skills to improve the overall productivity of the company and elevate Comhar Partners' value proposition in the marketplace. This person must not only embrace change but draw on resilience to alter their road map along the way based on the current marketplace and feedback.
