Chief Executive Officer


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Works with the Board of Directors and other executives to establish short-term objectives and long-range goals, and related plans for execution
  • Presents regular reports on the status of the company’s operations to the board of directors and to the company
  • Oversees the organization’s financial position, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and goals of the company
  • Evaluates the financial results of all operations, comparing them with the company’s objectives. Takes appropriate measures to improve projected results and correct unsatisfactory results
  • Ensures the Core Purpose and Core Values of The Branch Group, Inc. are role modeled, adopted, and embraced by employees throughout the company
  • Serves as a brand ambassador for the company

SPECIFIC DELIVERABLES

Value Creation:

  • Financial Performance: Value is created by growing the profits and revenues of the company. The Chief Executive Officer ultimately is responsible for the performance of all operating companies, and for ensuring that each unit achieves their goals for profits and revenues.
  • The Chief Executive Officer must possess sufficient personal and industry experience to guide and mentor the leadership team in structured settings (regular performance reviews, goal setting, etc.) as well as on an as-needed basis daily.
  • Strategic Direction: The Chief Executive Officer sets company direction and strategy and connects the company’s strategic plan to growth of company value. The strategic plan must effectively address all critical issues facing the company, including growth, stability, risk management, human capital, financial capital, marketing, and external relations.

People and Culture:

  • Developing and nurturing a strong culture is a key success factor for the company. The core values of the company, as well as industry best practices, are embedded in the culture.
  • The Chief Executive Officer will work with the Executive Team and Board to ensure that regular and transparent communication of company performance as well as the future direction of the company occurs.
  • The Chief Executive Officer fosters an inclusive environment where employees can bring their best self to work.
  • Works with Chief Human Resources Officer and Operating Company Presidents to identify and hire sufficient talent to meet the demands of company strategy. The Chief Executive Officer is responsible to ensure a talent pipeline for key leadership roles and effective development plans for key employees.

Growth:

  • Organic Growth: The Chief Executive Officer is expected to grow the company revenues, but never at the expense of profits.
  • Inorganic Growth: The Chief Executive Officer spearheads efforts to identify acquisition targets that are consistent with company direction in creating enterprise value and oversees the process to complete those acquisitions.

Safety and Compliance:

  • The position has overarching responsibility for the compliance function, with the Vice President of Safety reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. While the Operating Company Presidents must create the environment in which compliance and safety exist, the Chief Executive Officer retains the responsibility for ensuring that the company operations are conducted in a manner which is compliant with all federal and state regulations and laws.

External Relations:

  • The Chief Executive Officer, with the support of the Executive Team, is responsible for all external relations. The Marketing Team serves as a resource and support function in this arena.
  • Community: The Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Team serve as the public “face” of the company. Together, they must ensure that the company is well represented to both clients, partners, and the general public.
